VN150CR : Maternal & Child Health Nursing Care

This course emphasizes the common disease processes, treatments, and pharmacological agents used for female reproductive disorders. Included is a study of the childbearing process from pregnancy through birth and the postpartum period. Content reviews normal pregnancy and stresses the high-risk client within each phase of pregnancy. The student is provided with the knowledge necessary to use the nursing process in the care of female clients with reproductive system disorders, normal pregnancy, and high-risk pregnancy. Common childhood diseases and disorders, treatments, pharmacological agents, and the use of nursing process in the care of the ill child from infancy through adolescence are covered. A student who fails VN150CR will be withdrawn from the co-requisite course.
